Presenting the Black Label Superior Grade. This extremely rare, finest grade varietal is the result of careful crossbreeding of the highest quality Matcha varietals from across Japan. This Matcha masterpiece is proprietary to our farm and the farmer who nurtured it with the assistance of our 4^th generation tea sommelier’s expertise and discerning palate. Fun Fact: When we asked our Sommelier last year what his favorite Matcha is, he said he drinks the Superior every day. It is his favorite of all the grades in flavor and experience.

This Black Label Superior Grade is not only 4x higher in L-Theanine and over 3x higher in Antioxidants compared to most ceremonial matcha in the world, but it has a unique full-bodied sweetness and a creaminess that is unique to this varietal and the Kagoshima region. This Superior grade has the highest absorption rate of any matcha we have experienced. Due to its rarity, the Superior is more costly to produce and is only available in limited quantities. This is a must taste experience for any true Matcha connoisseur!

Some cultivars are more expensive than others and the Superior is the most expensive cultivar of all matcha. All of our ceremonial matcha tea leaves come from the same organic farm, cultivated and specially picked by Ko, our tea master, so the Black Label and the Superior have similar L-Theanine and other nutrient levels.
